Printmaking offers a dynamic blend of tradition, innovation, and experimentation. At 成人快手 Southeast, the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking provides the tools, techniques, and mentorship you need to build a strong artistic foundation and express your unique creative voice.
You’ll begin by learning core processes such as lithography, intaglio, screen printing, and relief, and then move into advanced projects that explore photographic processes, book arts, computer-assisted printmaking, sculptural and interactive works, and more. Courses encourage you to think critically and conceptually, examining the cultural impact of print media and its evolving role in contemporary visual culture.
As you advance, you’ll create a cohesive body of work for public exhibition and develop a written thesis that reflects your research and creative journey.
The 1,800-square-foot printmaking studio at IU Southeast is fully outfitted for traditional and contemporary printmaking. Highlights include etching and lithography presses, a library of lithography stones, screen printing stations, a photographic exposure unit, Mac workstation, and digital printers. The space is ventilated for safety and designed to support non-toxic processes.
Students have 24/7 access, and studio fees help supply essential materials like inks, modifiers, tools, and chemistry, so you can stay focused on your creative development. Enrollment is capped at 16 to ensure personalized instruction, and upper-level students benefit from close mentorship and individualized support.
