For information specific to you and your situation, and find your ideal pathway to complete your degree on time.

Thirty-two (32) credit hours of general education/pre-nursing courses are required. These hours may be transferred from other colleges or universities. Coursework completed at other colleges or universities will be evaluated for equivalency.

The curriculum is composed of two areas of study:

  • General education
  • Classroom and clinical nursing courses

All courses are 3 credit hours unless otherwise noted.

   

Courses include topics such as:

  • Human Physiology
  • Immunology
  • Ethics
  • Health Assessment
  • Nursing Management
  • Data Analysis
  • Developing Family and Child

During the final semester, all students complete the Capstone Nursing course. The course includes an extensive seven-week clinical experience under the guidance of a Registered Nurse preceptor. Other postgraduate internships, which can be applied for after graduation, are available in specialized areas such as critical or trauma care.

Kentucky students are part of our IU Southeast family. In fact, students from ten Kentucky counties receive in-state tuition through our reciprocity program, students from non-reciprocity Kentucky counties qualify for reduced tuition through our Indiana Partners Program, and all Kentucky students may qualify for the KEES Match Scholarship! Immunization Compliance

Submit compliance documentation to CastleBranch

Documentation must be collected to monitor immunization compliance with hospital and public health requirements. You will submit all requirements and supporting compliance documents to our compliance vendor, CastleBranch. Supply your own copy and keep the original for your records.

From within myCB, you will be able to:

  • View order results
  • Manage requirements
  • Complete tasks
  • Upload documents
  • Place additional orders

You should contact your healthcare provider or Student Health Services to obtain your immunization compliance documentation. To register for CastleBranch, have your personal identifying information ready.

Follow these instructions to register. The email address you provide will become your username. For questions about setup or other issues, contact a CastleBranch Representative at 888-666-7788.

  2. Click the “Place Order” button.
    • If you are a NEW nursing student coming into the program, choose the first option, IU93: Background Check - Compliance Tracker - Drug Test.
    • If you are a RETURNING student (have previously taken nursing courses in our program), select IU93: Recheck Background Check - Drug Test.
    • Select your package.
