Writing Tutoring at IU Southeast
Need help becoming a stronger, more confident writer? Writing tutoring at IU Southeast provides individualized support for students at every stage of the writing process. Whether you are starting an assignment, developing ideas, revising a draft, or polishing a final paper, our tutors are here to help.
Writing tutors can assist with a wide range of writing projects, including essays, research papers, lab reports, personal statements, presentations, and other academic assignments. Sessions focus on helping you develop your own ideas and strengthen your writing skills rather than simply correcting your paper.
Writing tutoring sessions
During a tutoring session, you can work with a tutor to brainstorm and organize ideas, develop a clear thesis, improve structure and transitions, strengthen evidence and analysis, revise for clarity and style, and identify patterns in grammar or punctuation. You do not need to have a completed draft to visit a tutor. Bringing an assignment prompt, outline, or even a few ideas is enough to get started.
Ready to strengthen your writing? Schedule a writing tutoring appointment and bring your questions, ideas, or draft. We look forward to working with you!
