Capturing images and video for external audiences
Marketing & Communications staff members provide photography and video services for a variety of campus initiatives that are aimed at the recruitment and retention of students. Staff members document the beauty and architecture of the campus, as well as significant campus-related events. Materials are used in many ways, including portraiture, print, video, and digital advertising and promotion, and social media campaigns on the university’s official channels.
The Marketing & Communication staff will make every effort to accommodate photo and video requests, particularly those supporting student recruitment and retention. If scheduling conflicts prevent us from assisting, we can provide a list of IU-approved vendors who offer photography and videography services.
The IU Southeast website and social media feed feature photos that are intended to be positive and uplifting. If you are concerned with a photograph taken by a campus photographer or freelancer, please contact the Marketing & Communications staff for assistance.
Campus Photo Archives
Campus photographs are kept in digital archives on the Sharepoint server. For university-related commercial uses — including textbooks, commercial products, or advertising — please contact our Director for assistance.
Videography
IU Southeast provides videography services that are primarily utilized for campus branding and student recruitment and retention efforts through high-definition TV commercials and web videos.
As part of the Office of Marketing and Communications, our role is to champion IU brand standards and share the IU Southeast story with the world consistently and compellingly. To make the greatest impact, we focus our resources on projects that support student recruitment and retention, as well as on videos that showcase major donors and signature events, in alignment with the priorities of the Chancellor’s Office.
Video production is a collaborative and detailed process that requires time for concept development, scripting, filming, and post-production. To ensure the best results, please allow at least 12 weeks for completion. The Marketing & Communications team is here to support you at every stage of the process. In cases where our team is unable to take on production, we can connect you with IU-approved external vendors.
All videos that are to be viewed by external audiences must follow these guidelines:
- Must be viewed and approved by someone in the Marketing and Communications department before the video is uploaded to any public website
- Must adhere to IU brand standards
- Must have completed by people participating in the video
- If using an outside vendor for videography services, you must use an IU-approved vendor as they are guaranteed to give full rights/ownership of the video to IU Southeast.
